Still stable production in the pandemic
Although Hanoi city has implemented two rounds of lockdowns, all activities at companies in the industrial cluster of Phung town, Dan Phuong district, are still operating normally. Workers have jobs, businesses have revenue, take good care of workers' lives, and contribute to the state budget...
These days, the amount of Richy Northern Food Joint Stock Company's confectionery products is still evenly distributed by delivery trucks to all provinces and cities throughout the country and exported to overseas markets. Nearly 600 workers in the company not only do not have to take leave due to the lockdown, but still have jobs, even enjoying overtime pay due to the increasing volume of orders coming to the factory.
According to Mr. Tran Sy Truc, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, the secret lies in the fact that the unit has established a specific production plan, an epidemic prevention plan, strictly adhering to the 5K, both ensuring production and ensuring the safety of health for staff and workers. Immediately after that, this plan was approved by the district People's Committee. Workers at the company mainly live in the district. However, there are still about 50 people living in neighboring districts. The company has arranged accommodation for these workers according to the 3-in-place method. Currently, the average salary per month for each worker is 8 million VND. The company has no F0, F1, or relatives related to the above Fs.
The company currently has many products that are loved by consumers such as rice cakes or Karo fresh egg waffles. Not only consumed in the domestic market, but Richy's products are also exported to 30 countries around the world, especially popular in the American, Asian markets, including South Korea.
In 2020, the company's Karo fresh egg cake with dried meat product was ranked Top 1 of "Vietnamese goods that are loved by many consumers in 2020". Also in 2020, Richy was honored to be selected by the Government and the Ministry of Industry and Trade as a national brand product of Vietnam.
The company has more motivation to focus on community activities due to stable production. Recently, through the Labor Federation and the Provincial Fatherland Front, the company donated 3 billion VND to the vaccine fund, and for the second time a quantity of 30 boxes of bread, 10 boxes of rice cakes for the frontline epidemic prevention force. Recently, the company has been awarded the green zone flag by the Labor Federation of the district.
Speaking about the stable production activities of businesses in the face of the threat of epidemics, Mr. Nguyen Viet Dat, Head of the Economic Department of Dan Phuong district, said that the district leaders and relevant departments have always recognized businesses as the backbone of the economy. If they can operate, they will have the opportunity to contribute to society. Currently, the district has 16 communes and towns, divided into red zones, including Tan Lap commune, orange zones, including Trung Chau commune, yellow zones, including Tan Hoi commune, Tho An commune, the rest are green zones. Agricultural production is still operating normally with the condition of strictly adhering to epidemic prevention measures.
Businesses operating in industrial clusters must come up with a specific production and epidemic prevention plan. Immediately after receiving the plan, the district People's Committee will send officials to assess and inspect. If it is found to be acceptable, the decision to approve the plan will be issued within one day. For businesses located outside of industrial clusters, under the responsibility of communes and towns, the assessment process is the same. The speed of plan approval is extremely fast and flexible, creating the best conditions for businesses to operate.
Thanks to the good management work, as of this point, there have been no cases of F0 or F1 at businesses in the area.
New Production and Business Ideas
As the green zone expands, production activities are becoming more open. These days, Mrs. Dang Thi Cuoi, the head of the Cuoi Quy high-tech organic vegetable production and consumption cooperative in the village of Doai Khe, Dan Phuong commune, feels relieved that 13 cooperative workers have returned to work.
Before the first lockdown, the cooperative's vegetable products were distributed to the Soi Bien chain of stores, Dat Viet cooperative, and 16 schools in the district. However, due to the impact of the pandemic, a large amount of vegetables were not sold, forcing Mrs. Cuoi switched to working with women's associations in many wards and communes in Hanoi to carry out food aid trips.
Now that workers are back to work, vegetable sales are more stable, and Mrs. Cuoi also has new business ideas. In the total area of 5 hectares, she has allocated 1.5 hectares to grow a new type of grape called Ha Den. In November, the grapes will be harvested and sold in a way that allows customers to come to the garden and select them themselves. In the future, when things stabilize, the cooperative will again put 2 tons of vegetables on the market each day.
According to Vice Chairman of the Dan Phuong District People's Committee Nguyen Thach Hung, Dan Phuong is implementing the excellent Directive No. 20 of the Hanoi People's Committee dated September 6, 2023, on accelerating the control of the COVID-19 situation. Currently, the entire district has 159 businesses operating in accordance with approved production plans with 8,443 workers. Eight businesses are implementing the "three at the same place" production plan; 136 businesses are implementing the "one-way, two-point" plan; and 13 businesses are implementing a hybrid plan of "three at the same place" and "one-way, two-point." To limit crowds, businesses and production facilities have arranged to work from 2 to 3 shifts per day. At the entrance and exit of each company, a control unit is arranged to strictly comply with the 5K measures.
Also according to Mr. Hung, the entire district has completed the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine for more than 10,000 workers at businesses in the area, with many having completed the second dose. Vaccination and increased production are the top priorities of the district to continue expanding the green zone and bring people's lives back to normal as soon as possible.
