History: There were no fewer than four Greenvilles in organized baseball in 1939, all in the South. The Buckshots from Mississippi played in the Cotton States League. The Lions of Alabama were in the Alabama-Florida League. The Spinners played in the South Atlantic League. Our jersey is from the Greenville Greenies, winners of the 1939 Coastal Plain League pennant. The Greenies were managed by Rube Wilson, who went on to scout for the Chicago Cubs for thirty years.

History: While the origin of the team’s nickname is unknown, the Crackers represented Atlanta, Georgia, from 1884-1965. The 1938 edition of the club won the Southern Association pennant, led by Paul Richard who managed the club while also playing in the field, batting.316 for the season with 13 home runs.
