History: This was one of several different uniform styles worn by the Memphis club in the 1940s. The V on the sleeve is for Victory in World War II. #6 on back.
History: The Indianapolis Clowns began as a barnstorming team known for their pre-game entertainment as much as for their ball skills. Once they joined the Negro American League they focused on baseball and won the NAL title in 1950. The Clowns are best known for three signings: the great women players Toni Stone and Connie Morgan and a raw youngster named Henry Aaron.

History:  The Chickasaws, Chicks for short, represented Memphis, Tennessee, in the Southern Association from 1912-1960. In 1944, the club featured the incomparable Pete Gray, an outfielder who only had one arm after losing his right arm in a childhood accident. Yet despite having to do everything with just his one arm, Gray starred for the ‘44 Chicks, posting a.333 batting average and even adding 5 home runs en route to claiming the 1944 Southern Association MVP award.
